As I've mentioned before, Cassie is perhaps the savviest cat I know. But when it comes to eBay, I must declare that she has made a glaring eMistake. A rookie eBayer, she had trouble from the onset of her eJourney in that she forgot her password, but those problems were quickly resolved, and today she was back in business.
I can just picture her now. In her home office, surreptiously perusing eBay auctions. Anxiety begins to overwhelm her as her search yields hundreds of potential purchases. Her forehead glistens with perspiration as she whittles down her search, and opportunity suddenly knocks on her door. She has found the perfect auction: Lakers tickets for her husband Sean!
With password in mind, Cassie prepares to place her bid. 12 minutes remain in the auction. She hears Sean shuffling around in the next room and her heart begins to pound. Her max bid is placed, and whew! she did it without a trace of suspicion from Sean. A job well done in her mind.
10 minutes left. . . Cassie maintains her "high bidder" status. 6 minutes...5...4....3...2...1....
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE THE WINNER OF AUCTION #5399343. Cassie beams with pride as the coveted tickets were won without a hitch. "Now just wait until Sean sees these!" she thinks.
Minutes later Cassie receives a confirmation e-mail with all the standard accolades. Her eyes scan the e-mail, and her eyes halt on the following words:
TWO (2) Lakers tickets, February 17, 2004 NEW JERSEY
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? NEW JERSEY????? New &(*&& Jersey?
Now what's an angelino to do with these?
FLASH FORWARD: 2 hours post auction, Hank gets a phone call from Sean
Sean: "Hey do ya wanna go to N.J. in February with me?"
Hank: "Huh?"
Sean: "Nevermind....I'll let your wife fill you in.....(chuckle chuckle)"
