The time between my posts lengthens as I prepare for our new little bambino. Her room is being worked on as I type this, and I can't wait for all to resume normalcy! Dust, workers, dust, commotion! It's all growing tiring, but it will be worth it in the end, yes?
Anyway, in the spirit of our bun in the oven, I thought I'd run a little contest, a BABY POOL if you will. Here's what you have to do if you would like to participate. Post a comment here stating the following:
THE PRIZE: I'll package up something pretty and fun for you! Also if all participants could send a little goodie to me (i.e. fun pens, stationery, stickers, a fat quarter of fabric, candy, anything really -- please keep items small and cheap!). I'll pool all of these fun goodies, and ship them off to the winner of this contest! Sound fair?
Okay, so here are some details that will help you with your guess.
And, say, WHO WINS? I've decided that the person who comes closest to both the date and time will be deemed the winner. In case of a tie, I'll use the bonus questions!
DEADLINE for participating: I will close the comments this Friday night at 8 p.m.! Sunday.
* Glossary
The amount the cervix has opened in preparation for childbirth, dilation is measured in centimeters. "Fully dilated" means you're at 10 centimeters and are ready to push.
This refers to the thinning of the cervix in preparation for birth, and is expressed in percentages. You'll be 100% effaced when you begin pushing.
Station is a term used to describe the descent of the baby into the pelvis. An imaginary line is drawn between the two bones in the pelvis. This is the "zero" line. When the baby is above this imaginary line it is in a minus station. When the baby is below, it is in a "plus" station. Stations are measured from -5 at the pelvic inlet to +4 at the pelvic outlet.
Sounds like a fun contest! Hmmm. I'll need to think about this first and come back with my answer.
BTW, I couldn't find your wishlist or registry anywhere. Let me know if there's one or if not, your mailing address, if you don't mind.
Take is easy now!

I just looked back over the previous picks and noticed that I almost matched Suzanne's picks -- same date, weight, and length, time off by only nine minutes, which leaves me with a four-minute window. That's okay. What would I do with fun pens, candy, or fat quarters?
