Last Thursday I started a new afghan for our little bun (fingers crossed that it really is a little girl. . .there is always that little seed of doubt when it comes to gender prediction!). I went to my favorite yarn supplier and stocked up on some super soft Rowan DK yarn. Here take a look at my STASH-OLA. I walked out with 45 skeins (yes, they're all in that bag!) of the purdiest yarn you ever did saw. And the killer part? I still have to buy more....so sorry wallet! Anyhoo, I've been crocheting like a madwoman, and I've finished 8 briar patch squares like the one shown. Lately I find myself eager for the evening hours when the little ones are asleep so that I can crochet away.
Next weekend good pal Cassie is throwing a birthday party for her little girl Kylee, and today while the family was napping away, I whipped out these little t-shirts. The three shirts read: "I'm Sassy," "I'm a Ham," and "I'm Spunky." And the backside of each tee reads, "Just Like My Mommy." To add to the fun, I made this this shirt for Ms. Sassie Cassie herself. I hope she likes them.
Yesterday, while at the mall, I was browsing through A Pea in the Pod and saw a line of t-shirts that read "Due in June (or one's respective due date)." And can you believe that they were selling them for seventy something dollars? Um, no thanks.
Since I was already busy crafting up all these tees, I made one up for myself. You can view my budget version of A Pea's, I suppose. I am quite the happy camper knowing that my tee cost a mere $10! Yay for bargains!
Well before I leave, I thought I'd leave you with my profile 19 week photo. Just yesterday I tried to put on a pair of my khaki cords, and, um, they were a TIGHT (In fact, they were so tight that I couldn't feel my lower extremities for about three hours.....alright not that tight). I find this rather funny because I just wore them just a few days before and I was still able to breathe. Ah, such is the way with pregnancy.
P.S. I just added my pregnancy photos to the sidebar. You can also click HERE to view them. Isn't it crazy what a difference two weeks makes?

Well, you might have a wee bump, only noticable from comparing the 17 week with the 19 week pic. You are still te-niney :o)
I love your afghan and your cute shirts. You have been one crafty girl this weekend! Now you need to make big sister and big brother cute "I'm the big __" shirts.

I love that square. I'm actually inspired to make a blanket myself for in my studio, so the cat can sleep on it. Can you imagine that you'll have a massive belly in a couple of months, even weeks LOL I'm liking these belly shots too :o) Maybe I should start one of my belly getting bigger of eating too much - hahahahaha

Hi Leslie, just catching up on your posts. Still without a home phone (or internet connection)....so I'm surfing at work on my laptop brought from home. I had to laugh about your "Wednesday" spreadsheet to hide your eBay bidding. :) You are one busy, crafty gal...I don't know how you find the time to do it all. Congrats on the ultrasound results. Great to follow along with your pregnancy. Hope all is well in SoCal.

I like the t-shirts. I should borrow your idea and make one for my sister that says, "Due in April". She'd get a kick out of it. I like your crocheting, too. I need to learn, it looks like fun!

Wow, crafty goddess! You kick royal bootay with that tiny belly of yours! Though from my other pregnant friends, I can appreciate how much a few weeks changes in clothing-wearing options. Enjoy enjoy, hoping the gender prediction game is good enough for pink things. Like your lovely crochet afghan squares! Sweeeet!

Greetings! A friend sent me the link to your site (really great site- I love your ideas!) and suggested that I contact you.
My name is Ruth Mendelson. I am a composer (I score films for a living and teach Advanced Film Composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston)- deeply committed to aspects of Healing and Music.
Below is the link to my web site (featuring sound clips that download automatically and play as a loop):
http://www.ruthmendelson.com/
I originally composed the "Amazing Jellies" CD last winter for the New England Aquarium's exhibit re: jellyfish and saving the oceans.
Several months ago, a teacher who was visiting the exhibit was so taken by the music she wrote about it on an internet teachers forum, saying that it had the strong potential to help her students learn. Before I knew it, I was flooded with CD orders from teachers all across the US and Canada.
Since then, people of all ages and occupations are using this music as a medium for various aspects of healing and relaxation. Teachers, parents, children, nurses, the elderly, teens, those with autism and various sensory issues, psychotherapists, yoga instructors, massage therapists are all benefiting from this music. In general, the CD is being used for anything from helping children to focus in classrooms to adults recovering from surgery. Overall, the music is especially helpful in the areas of pain management and stress/anxiety reduction.
UCLA is now interested in doing a partner study with Mass General (here in Boston) with the CD re: monitoring reduction of pain levels in patients.
If there is anyone who feel could benefit from this music, would you mind passing on this link to them? The CD is serving many people at this point and has the potential to help several more.
Thanks and Blessings!

Those colors are beautiful, but ofcourse they are since the're from Rowan. Rowan-lovers know what's best for the little Wee's aren't we ;0)
And I don't know what the Pea's versions look like but I think yours are looking super!!

Crafty crafty mama! I can't wait to see the finished blankie. When I grow up I want to be just like you! :)
Posted by: alexis | February 01, 2005 at 09:06 PM
I never did learn how to crochet, just knit...your blankie is going to be so cute and the baby will probably be holding the one ragged piece that it hasn't sucked off when she is 15!
