Birdie and I have been officemates for, um, 3 weeks now? Whatever the amount of time, it's been pretty short. And yet, oh and yet, she feels quite comfortable sharing little personal tidbits with me. The other day we were talking over our cubicle walls (which, by the way, feels kinda funny. 'Cause you know, if someone were to walk by, they'd see two people talking to a wall. But anyway). Apparently she had a headache.
Birdie: "Leslie, do you have any asprin?"
Leslie: "Naw, sorry."
Birdie: "I should really bring in a small bottle to keep at work."
Leslie: "Yeah, that's a good idea...."
Birdie: "Cause I have other stuff here....like my brush, extra shoes.....oh, and I like to keep a small bottle of baby powder in my desk...."
Leslie: "......" (confused)
Birdie: "....for my diaper rash"
Leslie: ".........." (Cue sound of screeching car brakes.)
Birdie: "...that's why I always wear dresses.....to air out...."
Leslie: "............" (Cue sound of colliding cars)
Now what in the world does one do with this information? That's a real conversation stopper if you ask me. Actually, since we've shared an office, there are many, many more moments like this one. I'll share them in due time, I suppose.

In other news: Last night Hank and I sneaked away to San Diego to see the Padres play against the Giants at Petco Park. My husband is a huge, HUGE sports fan. If a sporting event has ANYTHING to do with the Yankees or his alma mater, we're SO THERE. But last night, we weren't necessarily fans of either team; Hank desperately wanted to see Barry Bonds in hopes that we might witness him break his homerun record. FYI: Didn't happen.
After that, we spent the night at Linda's, mi querida amiga. It was good to catch up on all the latest gossip, and we spent a good portion of the night chatting away. We stayed up waaaay past our bedtime, and the poor girl must have been dragging at work today. For the first time in AGES, BOTH Hank and I slept until 10:15 a.m.!!! It was SO FAB to wake up when our bodies told us to, and not when the first child screams in the early brightness of the morning!
Anyway, tomorrow is Friday, and I'm eager for the weekend to begin!!!
As for what to do with that information... I suggest locking it deep down in your mind, below the spot for repressed memories!
Yeah for sleeping in!

Yikes... can you say "T.I.M!" Waaaaayyyy Too Much Information!

Ewwwww... how do you respond to that? Some things should just be left unsaid.

ugh. yup, she should have kept that to herself. sick. The kicker is when people are that open, they expect YOU to be. I'm not going there. Sick. Sick. That's probably why she's really into the naughty talk on the phone because the physical isn't happening anytime soon.
*cringe*

Girl! I can't believe I've let two days pass without visiting...I'm kinda glad because I've loved just reading and totally laughing my butt off. :) Actually, I wish we could literally laugh our butt off...it would make the dieting thing unnecessary! Ohhh, that funny birdie...do you realize how lucky you are to be working with someone like her? You will be laughing for years remembering her antics. I would rather work with 15 birdies than one Teacher Thief!!
you're a doll.

Just found your site today--love it! Your illos are sweet little beans. I hear you on the over-divulging coworker syndrome. I've been there, done that. You need an ipod and earbuds, fast!

I have no clue what I would have said. I mean what did she expect you to say "oh here is my baby powder, I have butt rash too!" LOL At least you aren't bored at work these days huh!
