Scene: Room 54, Period 3. The class has FINALLY settled down after the daily teacher-student struggle.
Ms. Saito: "Okay kids, now that we're all focused, can anyone tell me why the protagonist is being so feeble-minded?"
Students: (eagerly raise hands):
Ms. Saito: (face lights up with pride at students' seeming enthusiasm) "Yes, Student A...could you give us the answer?"
Student A: (announces to class) "My grandpa can take out his real teeth! He shows his gums and everything. It be sooo funny." (haw haw haw)
Ms. Saito: "....err...yeah, but --"
Student B: "--What you mean he can take out his teeth?" (swings head around to face Student A)
Student A: "He just does....he just goes like this (imitates removal of teeth)"
Student B: "Naw man. Thos teeth be fake man. They ain't real."
Student A: "Yeah they is. I swear. They be real."
Student B: "If they was real, he couldn't take 'em out. (speaking to classmates) Dis fool think his paw paw can take out his real teeth!"
Students: "ha ha ha ha!!!!"
Ms. Saito: "......................."
