SEE the GROUCH!When I woke up today, there was a slight, eerie mist in the air which threatened to frizz out my freshly straightened hair (I'm the girl with the fickle hair -- not quite straight, not quite wavy). Not even Frizz Ease and my flattening iron could combat this mysterious mist (Grouch-Inducing Incident #1). Arriving to work, I realized that I forgot to wear my flag shirt, so I found myself surrounded by chipper, patriotic co-workers (Grouch-Inducing Incident #2). Our fearless leader even added to this fiery inferno of grouchiness by snapping, "Ms. Saito.....where is your flag shirt?........We told you about it yesterday....."
....Uh excuse me? Wasn’t “Flag Day” on Monday?
So yes, I admit it. I'm kinda grouchy. If my husband were here right now he would mostly likely remark, "Are you on the Grouchapalooza tour today?" Then I would most likely giggle.
Instead of giggling, I'm here at work (G.I.I. #3). We have this crazy-a** testing schedule which forces me to entertain my students for loooong stretches of time (on Monday I had my students for 105 minutes). They're busy taking their tests right now, while I rant in this here blog.
To add to the circus fun, there has been a helicopter (G.I.I. #4) circling above our school grounds for the past four hours. FIVE HOURS!!
Oh not to worry, it’s just a gunman roaming around town.
That cop over there by the cafeteria? He’s here to protect and serve.
Just mind your own, now.
We're gonna have a lock down soon. You'll have to stay with your last class until the coast is clear. We'll send snacks around if it gets too close to dinnertime.

Oh! I hear you! I've been really cranky for the last week or so. I'm attributing this batch of cranky to hormones this month, but they are way more active than usual. Aren't those ultra-chipper folks just the icing on the cake when you're cranky? And then you feel bad for being annoyed that they're so....HAPPY.
I love the grouchy girl illustration. SO cute!
Hope your day picks up!!

Nice site you have here. I enjoyed the rant to :) People can just be so blunt sometimes. Sorry about the shirt thingy, and the whole school day. Tomorrow will be better, I promise!
